Well, this is the first time I have blogged and the reason why I am blogging is to create awareness for a new website I have created called Premier League Heroes. http://www.premierleagueheroes.co.uk/
I have been a massive fan of the English Premier League since its inception in 1992 and I often used to wonder what had become of certain players which had played in the English Premier League and had now retired. I used to trawl the web looking for information simply by typing in the name of the player (Eric Cantona for example) and I used to find the information I needed relatively easily....however what was frustrating was the fact that there wasn't one site which incorporated all of the information I required. This led me to set up Premier League Heroes which is a site which will eventually have 300 or so ex Premier League players which have now retired from playing. The site gives statistics on the number of Premier League appearances, Premier League goals scored, cards received and clubs played for. Each player profile will also have information on what they have been doing since retiring from playing in the Premier League and what they are up to now. In addition to this I have added video clips of the relevant players. The site currently has about 100 ex Premier League players but this is being added to on a daily basis.
As the end of the EPL season draws to a close a couple of players have announced their retirement already, namely Sami Hyppia and Robbie Savage - these will be added to the site in due course. When we are selecting players to add to the site we aren't necessary looking at record numbers of appearances or goals -we are looking at those players who had charisma, flamboyancy and were crowd favourites.
